Feng Xiaoguo 馮曉果
Feng Xiaoguo is a textile visual artist who employs the medium of fabric to create her unique artistic realm, persistently exploring the intersections of materials and human spiritual realms. She passionately believes that the language of fabric is potent enough to convey immense information and energy. Her recent artistic endeavours aim to delve into the inner strength of women, and expose the diverse predicaments they confront by presenting a space enclosed by nonexistent forms and textiles.
She postulates that the gender and image of women have become increasingly ambiguous due to the processes of historical development and contemporary social transformations. Consequently, while deeply ingrained iconic forms have been obscured, an invisible power still prevails. This power, she argues, originates not only from history, but also from women themselves. Through her art, she aspires to provide alternative perspectives and opportunities for introspection, ultimately making this invisible force more comprehensible.

W·R is a textile art installation conceptualised and executed by artist Feng Xiaoguo. It comprises a semi-transparent space fabricated from a combination of fabric, embroidery, and the stabilisation of iron wire, offering viewers an immersive visual experience.
By integrating embroidery techniques and the narrative patterns within the installation, the artist endeavours to expose a broader audience to the historical context and living conditions of women, delving into how they navigate the ambiguous constraints of their environment. This serves as a mission of self-preservation and self-actualisation.
The installation aspires to prompt visitors to perceive that this inception represents a method for everyone to contemplate social transformations, as well as the necessities and disparities among various groups.
