Xining Zhou 周熙凝
Zhou is an energetic and creative young artist whose artistic journey has been richly inspired and influenced by five years of overseas study and exploration of various traditional cultures. During her undergraduate and postgraduate studies, she focused on multimedia art, passionately exploring the visual impact and expressive power of different media; she skillfully integrates the rich connotations of various traditional cultures with her perceptions and experiences into her artistic creations.
周熙凝是一位充滿活力和創意的年輕藝術家，她的藝術旅程因五年的海外學習經歷以及對各地傳統文化的探索而獲得了豐富的靈感和啟發。在本科和研究生期間，她專注於多媒體藝術，熱衷於探索不同媒材的視覺衝擊與表現力，並將各種傳統文化的深厚內涵與她的感悟和經歷巧妙地融入到她的藝術創作中。
The inspiration for my work comes from the elderly women in my life who have profoundly influenced me. These women include teachers who have enlightened me with their unique female perspectives, artists who selflessly passed down their artistic skills, strangers who provided unexpected inspiration, and my mother who unconditionally supports all of my decisions. These diverse women come together with their rich experiences and deep wisdom, inspiring me and resonating with the concept of a matriarchal society, leading me to deeply contemplate what aging brings to women.
I noticed a unique charisma in mature women. Whenever I observe them, I see not only the looseness of skin and muscles caused by ageing, but also the marks that time has left to honor their wisdom, courage, and confidence. The skin of elderly women is no longer as firm as it was before, just as their lives become less tense and constrained, growing more composed and calm with age and life experiences. These wrinkles have become the source of inspiration for my creations, and thus, I named my work Relation. Through this work, I hope to celebrate the aging of women, praising the elegance and strength they exhibit in the face of time, and evoke a deep recognition and respect for the topic of female aging.
我的作品靈感來自於生活中那些對我產生深遠影響的年長女性。這些女性包括以獨特女性視角啟迪我的教師，無私傳承藝術技藝的藝術家，偶然相遇卻給予我啟發的陌生人，以及無條件支持我一切決定的母親。這些形形色色的女性彙聚在一起，用她們豐富的經驗和深邃的智慧啟發了我，令我感受到母系社會的共鳴，並深入思考衰老給女性究竟帶來了什麼。
對我而言，成熟女性身上有著獨特的魅力，我看到的不僅僅是她們因正常衰老而出現的皮膚和肌肉的鬆弛，更看到歲月為她們的智慧、勇氣與自信所刻下的印記。年老的皮膚不再如年輕時那樣緊緻，就如同面對困境不再如年輕時緊張與侷促，而隨著年齡和生活閱歷的增加變得更加從容與沉穩。皺紋成為了我創作的靈感源泉，因此，我的作品命名為“鬆弛感”。我希望通過這個作品，去慶祝女性的衰老，讚美她們在面對時間流逝時所展現出的優雅與力量，並喚起對女性衰老話題的深刻認同與尊重。
